Milton Sagahon

 Audio Engineer / Producer

 

Milton was born in Mexico City and moved to Seattle in 1997 inspired by a recording he made with Ansia's guitarist Rogelio Gomez who had been working with Paul Leary from the Butthole Surfers. His band Los Nietos del Gnomo won multiple awards in Mexico opened for acts like Coda, Systema and Kerigma. 

In 1998,  he wrote, produced and performed in Organica's self-titled album recorded by Jay Fallete and James Mendenhall. Milton obtained an Audio Production degree from Seattle's The Art Institute in 1999 when he wento to work as Audio Duplicator at Muzak Video Imaging. In 2003, he graduated from Cornish College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Music. During his time at Cornish, he did live sound at Poncho Concert Hall and multiple live and studio recordings for faculty and students.

He was an intern and Assistant Engineer at Seattle studios Flying Rhino and Well Wrought Audio.

 

Milton has worked with Grammy Award Winner Kenny Lamar, Multi-Grammy Nominee Jovino Santos Neto (Best Latin Jazz Album); Latin Grammy Nominee Flora McGill; Jazz Legends Julian Priester and Hadley Caliman; Odeon String Quartet, James Knapp Big Band Orchestra and many others.

He studied with Phillip Glass, Jack Dejohnette, Dave Holland, Eddie Palmieri, Hermeto Pascoal, Chuck Deardorf, Jovino Santos Neto, Jarrad Powell, Roger Nelson and James Knapp. 

 

His Music for Film experience includes soundtrack Music Composition for Ocho Candelas in 2001, Mexico. Hong Kong Film Festival Award, Joyce Award and International Sephardic Film Festival Award.

 

Milton was Digital Media Technician at Loud Eye Technologies in Seattle; Product Specialist at Broadcast Supply Worldwide in Tacoma, WA BSWusa.com; Music Instructor at Plateau Music in Issaquah, WA PlateauMusic.org; Account Manager at Loud Technologies in Woodinville, WA LoudTechInc.com Mackie, Tapco, Ampeg, Crate, Alvarez; Live Sound Engineer at Poncho Concert Hall and NAF; Computer Technician at the Art Institute of Seattle.

 

He constantly volunteers at KEXP for In-Studio Live Broadcasts, Tapings, Programming and Content Acquisition.

 

Milton records, mixes and produces music full time. From Jazz, Funk & Soul to In-Your-Face Rock, he will give your music the attention it deserves.
